Boing Boing have put up galleries of photos from the fires across Texas. These fires (especially the one that swallowed Bastrop yesterday) are visible from space.

The Bastrop County fire is still out of control. Some of our firefighters have gotten no sleep in the past 48 hours. Retired firefighters have come out of retirement to lend a hand. Hopefully the cooler weather will give us an edge up.
